Importance and distribution

There are 12 Phaeobotryon records in Index Fungorum (2022), but three species P. disruptum, P. euganeum and P. visci have been transferred to Botryosphaeria and Columnosphaeria. Phaeobotryon comprises eight species known on Anacardiaceae, Cupressaceae, Fabaceae and Sapindaceae in Asia (China, Iran, Russia), Europe (Estonia, Germany) and the United States (Hawaii, Oregon).
