 Type species: Catulus aquilonius Malloch & Rogerson

Notes: Catulus is characterised by two-celled, setulose ascospores. Malloch and Rogerson (1978) suggested Catulus belong to Mycosphaerellaceae. Sequence data is lacking for Catulus. Catulus is in Dothideomycetes genera incertae sedis. Fresh collections with DNA sequence data are needed to confirm the generic placement of Catulus.
