Globulina

Globulina Speg., Boln Acad. nac. Cienc. Córdoba 11(4): 532 (1889).

Index Fungorum number: IF 2076; Facesoffungi number: FoF 12217, 20 morphological species (Species Fungorum 2022), no molecular data available.

Foliicolous. Sexual morph: Perithecia in or on a subiculum, superficial on a subiculum, scattered, brightly colored to brown, membranous. Asci cylindric, with thickened apex, 8-spored. Ascospores filiform, septate, hyaline, separating at the septa into part-spores. Asexual morph: Unknown (adapted from Rogerson 1970).

 

Type species: Globulina erisyphoides Speg.

 

Notes: Globulina is characterised by brightly colored to brown perithecia, cylindric 8-spored asci and filiform, septate, hyaline ascospores. Globulina lacks sequence data. Globulina is in Dothideomycetes genera incertae sedis. Fresh collections with DNA sequence data are needed to confirm the generic placement of Globulina.
