Importance and distribution

Dictyodesmium comprises four species viz. D. bambusicola known on old thatch of Bambusoideae in India, D. lignicola on rotten wood in China, D. prunorum on bark of Prunus in France and D. ulmicola on leaves of Ulmus in USA.
